Digital artists from around the world showcase their talents.
MTV Engine Room was the first-ever digital art reality show. It was a seven-week series aired in 2008 sponsored by MTV, mtvU and Hewlett Packard. It was a competition of talented digital artists from around the world who were seeking to demonstrate their digital artistic talents. The winners received cash, technology products and bragging rights.
We were asked to apply our expertise to architect the strategy and flow of the website. We worked with NYC partner
Ultra 16 to create the Engine Room website, where artists upload their work and viewers can watch episodes, view team bios, meet the judges and learn more about the HP equipment the teams used during their creative events. A recent New York Times article referred to the project as "Like 'The Real World,' With More Computers."
