ESPN Event Marketing

Engaged and excited ESPN's event advertising sponsors.

ESPN selected Mad*Pow when they needed to revamp their Event Wrap-ups Portal site along with several event microsites.  The sites were created to communicate with and engage ESPN’s advertising sponsors.   Account Executives at ESPN wanted to create an online experience that would resonate with prospective event sponsors and generate a buzz for the advertisers before, during and after an event.

The end result was an exceptional online experience that was steeped in user research and audience understanding.  Taking into consideration stakeholder goals, Mad*Pow conducted extensive user interviews, gaining awareness of why sponsors would visit the site and what they wanted to do when they go there.

Emerging with a revolutionary new information architecture, or site structure, we were able to design a high impact site which ESPN sales executives were proud to share with event sponsors.  The highly interactive site reflects the brand strength of ESPN in the form of an engaging and modern (and accessible) experience.

Behind all the sizzle and glamour of the site’s aesthetics were flash elements and a fully integrated content management system.  Doing the heavy-lifting on the development front was long-time Mad*Pow partner the Atom Group (link.)  By joining forces we were able to deliver brilliant experience design, visual design and development, and exceed the expectations of ESPN.

They were delighted with the results, saying that it was leaps and bounds better than previous sites specifically in terms of the “wow” experience and intuitive navigation. These new sites will help the event marketing and sales team retain lucrative relationships with their sponsors and advertisers.
